How to Download GST Certificate (REG-06) — 2-Minute Guide
Your GST Registration Certificate (Form GST REG-06) is issued digitally and stored on the GST portal. You do not receive a physical certificate — it must be downloaded from your login and displayed at your principal place of business.
Step-by-Step Process
1
Login to GST Portal
Go to gst.gov.in and log in with your credentials.
2
Navigate to Registration
Click on Services in the top menu → Registration → View / Download Certificates.
3
Select Certificate
The page shows all registration certificates linked to your GSTIN. Click the Download icon (↓) next to Form REG-06.
4
Save the PDF
The certificate downloads as a PDF. Save it securely. The certificate shows your GSTIN, legal name, trade name, registration date, type, address, and the nature of business.
5
Display Requirement
As per Rule 18 of the CGST Rules, every registered taxpayer must display the certificate at every place of business. A printed copy or digital display on a screen at the premises is acceptable.
Pro Tips
The certificate is electronically signed — it does not need a physical stamp or signature to be valid.
If your business has multiple GSTINs (branches in different states), each registration has a separate REG-06.
The certificate does not expire as long as your registration is active. Verify the status on gstverify.co.in if needed.
Lost or forgot your login? Use "Forgot Username" or "Forgot Password" on the GST portal login page.
Penalty for Non-Compliance
⚠️ Failure to display the GST certificate at the place of business can attract penalty under Section 125 of the CGST Act (general penalty up to ₹25,000).
